Childhood Immunisation Programme

Childhood immunisation schedule from June 2006
Age 2 months: 5 in 1 (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio, Pertussis, Haemophilus Influenzae B) plus Pneumococcal
Age 3 months: 5 in 1 plus Meningitis C
Age 4 months 5 in 1 plus Men C plus Pneumococcal (1 in one thigh, 2 in the other at least 2.5cm apart)
Age 12 months: new combined Hib and Men C vaccine
Age 13 months: MMR and pneumococcal booster
The change in the Men C program is due to a reduction in protection seen after a year under the old regime. The 12 month Hib booster extends the vaccine protection.
